It’s been 2 years since I married the love of my life, but 3 years since we took one of our most memorable trips while being engaged!
On my most favorite holiday (Christmas…AHH!), my husband asked me to marry him. To be honest, we had a trip planned to Europe that following April 2015 and I SOOOO thought a proposal was going to happen there AT one of the places we were going to: The Amalfi Coast, Venice, or Paris. I had all these scenarios in my head of how and where it would go down, but he had his reasons of choosing Christmas. Stay tuned for our engagement story, coming soon.
Everything worked out so well. After he popped the big question, we shared our news with loved ones over the next week and I scoured Pinterest to start on some wedding ideas. Who doesn’t… am I right?
Once we finally decided that we would be getting married about a year out, we wanted a romantic, intimate, cozy-feel, winter wedding for that next January. I had this amazing idea to just do a photoshoot while on holiday in April and turn one or two of those pictures into our Save The Date.
We chose Paris, France since it is the city of love and romance. We did photos at momentous spots such as The Lourve, Pont Alexandre III, Notre Dame, Pont des Arts bridge, Palais Royal, Sacré-Cœure, a Parisian cafe in Montmartre, and of course, The Eiffel Tower. Parisian life has always looked like a fairytale to me.
Today I’m sharing one of the outfits from my engagement shoot! This classic tulle skirt was so fun to wear and walk around in and I found online at a boutique called Space 46! I kid you not when I say that when walking around the Sacré-Cœure area, there were tons of five and six year olds pointing to me saying “Princesse! Princesse!” Thee cutest thing! Anyway, I wore it with a top similar to this cashmere crewneck sweater at JCrew. I wanted it to be a versatile, everyday piece that I could wear to work or pair with pretty much anything. They have many different types and colors now on their site. Lastly, I wanted a classic pump and these rose gold shoes were $99.95 from Nordstrom. I wanted simplicity and they were perfect since there wouldn’t be any close up shots of my shoes. And…. rose gold! Need I say more?! You can find my exact pair here. There are so many cute options at different price points when shopping around. You can also see below and shop my look if you scroll to the bottom of this post.
Are you planning an engagement photo session? I’d love to hear what your plans are or what you did when you got engaged! I wish I could be engaged and do it all again, every year! HA HA! It’s such a fun time with lots of kissing of course!
